Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Layerbase, including the Layerbase website, Layerbase Cloud, and related developer tools.

Last updated: May 9, 2026

Agreement

These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Layerbase, LLC. By using Layerbase, creating an account, or paying for a plan, you agree to these terms.

If you use Layerbase on behalf of a company or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

Accounts

You are responsible for your account, OAuth provider access, API keys, database credentials, and any activity performed through them. Keep credentials secure and notify us if you believe they were compromised.

Layerbase accounts are intended for humans and legitimate automation connected to your own development or production workflows. We may throttle, suspend, or remove accounts used for abuse, fraud, credential stuffing, spam, crypto mining, or attempts to disrupt the service.

Services

Layerbase provides developer tools for creating, running, connecting to, backing up, and managing database engines. Some features are provided through Layerbase Cloud, which runs databases in managed containers and exposes connection strings, dashboards, APIs, and related infrastructure.

Pre-release and beta features may change, break, or be removed. Unless a separate written agreement says otherwise, Layerbase is provided without uptime, recovery time, or data durability guarantees.

Customer Data

You retain ownership of the data you put into Layerbase databases. You grant Layerbase the limited rights needed to host, transmit, back up, restore, troubleshoot, secure, and operate the service.

You are responsible for making sure your use of Layerbase and the data you store complies with applicable law. Do not store regulated data that requires a specific compliance program, geographic region, or contractual data-processing terms unless we have agreed to that in writing.

Acceptable Use

You may not use Layerbase to:

  • break the law or violate someone else's rights;
  • attack, scan, overload, or disrupt our systems;
  • store or distribute malware, abusive content, or stolen data;
  • bypass quotas, rate limits, authentication, authorization, or billing controls;
  • resell Layerbase as a competing managed database service without written permission.

Billing

Paid plans and checkout are processed through Polar. Prices, limits, included features, and backup retention may vary by plan and may change prospectively.

You are responsible for taxes and payment-method accuracy. Failed, disputed, or cancelled payments may result in plan changes, feature restrictions, database suspension, or account termination after notice where practical.

Termination

You may delete your account from the cloud settings page or contact us for help. Account deletion removes the Payload user row and triggers cloud resource purge for databases, API keys, DNS records, and backups associated with the account.

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, create risk for the service or other users, or fail to pay required fees.

Disclaimers

Layerbase is provided "as is" and "as available" to the fullest extent allowed by law. We do not promise uninterrupted service, error-free software, or that all data can be recovered in every failure scenario.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Layerbase, LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business opportunities.

Changes

We may update these terms as Layerbase changes. If changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users through the website, dashboard, or email.
