Support access
Some support requests need more than Layerbase support can do on its own. For those, you give a temporary consent from the dashboard. There are two, and they cover different things. Both expire on their own, and you can revoke either one at any time.
Access to one database
Open the database, go to its Settings tab, and find Temporary access for support. Pick 24, 48, or 72 hours and grant it. Until it expires, Layerbase admins can use that one database's query console, connection credentials, exports, backup downloads, and restores, so they can work on your support request. It covers that database only: granting it on a staging database never reaches production.
Revoking blocks anything new immediately. An operation that is already running when you revoke, such as an export or a restore, finishes.
Moving a database between accounts
If you ask support to move a database into or out of your account, for example to combine two accounts you created by mistake, both accounts have to consent first. In the cloud dashboard, open Settings, find Support access, pick 24, 48, or 72 hours, and click Grant transfer consent. Do this while signed in to each of the two accounts.
- - It gives no access to your data. It does not open the query console, credentials, exports, or backup downloads of any database. If support also needs to look inside a database, that is the per-database consent above, granted separately.
- - It is single use. The first transfer it authorizes uses it up, and any further transfer needs a new grant.
- - Only you can grant it, from inside your own account. Support cannot grant it on your behalf, and there is no emergency override for it.
- - It expires on its own after the time you picked, and you can revoke it from the same place at any time.
Only grant it when you have asked support for a transfer. If you did not, leave it off.
